drifting

do you live your life with false hope

and will you die with a fading dream

or do you live inside reality

always taking things for what they seem

 

is your mind always on the right track

or does it wander with the wind

does it keep you tied down to the ground

or does it take you where you’ve never been

 

if you find that your mind keeps drifting

to a world that is yours to roam

then you’ll never find any peace of mind

you’re going to live your life alone

 

but if your minds on the straight and narrow

snuggled safe inside your sanity

your life’s like the flight of an arrow

lost in the shuffle of humanity

 

me? My mind keeps drifting

don’t know where and I don’t know when

I only know that I’m going to go

until it brings me back again
